Flattery and Compliments

There is a difference between a sincere compliment and flattery.

According to the Bible: Proverbs 29:5 – “Those who flatter their neighbors are setting nets for their feet.”

A compliment, sincerely given, has no attachments or expectations. It is, simply, a statement of sincere admiration. A polite, “thank you,” is the standard response, but even that is not necessary if the person is sincere.

This is how manipulative people draw you in. They give excessive praise and then when they have pulled you in, they take what they want.

There is no need to be fearful, for you can easily tell the difference.

Flattery will often make you feel uncomfortable, as you Angels are warning you that the person is trying to manipulate you.

Sincere compliments will feel warm and friendly and you don’t owe the person anything, and they will not ask for it.

When you compliment another, do not expect anything in return. If you do desire something from another, be honest. You may see someone who can help you in your business or personal life, and it’s okay to express admiration for what they do or how they look, but offer them something in return.

If ever in doubt about praise or flattery, turn to your Angels. They will help you sort it out and take the appropriate action.

Elves and faeries have a reputation, in mythology, for enticing passersby with sweet music to steal from or kidnap them. The flatterer uses pretty words in the same way.
