The Oak King

Today marks the longest day of the year. The summer solstice. In pagan tradition, two kings  battle during the year and eventually trade positions of dominance. The Oak King who you probably know as the Green Man, is dominant on this, the longest day of the year. As the coming days pass, his power wanes and the Holly King takes his place.  The Holly King, you will notice, bearing a striking resemblance to Santa Claus.
