Three steps to a Perfect Thanksgiving

On this day in the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving. It was designed to be a day where we gather with those we love the most and express our gratitude in word and prayer. In reality, it is just another 24-hour period. Hospitals and some stores remain open and larger stores prepare for the madness of Black Friday. People who have to work often feel resentful. They have to miss out on a celebration that the world takes for granted. Some feel pressured to create a “perfect holiday experience for their families. Are you feeling beat up from all of these crazy, cosmic events? You are not a victim of the stars, you are a star and you can shine your light or you can run and hide.  If you are reading this, you probably would rather shine.  You can be part of the world and still retain the ability to detach, just a bit, when things get rough. While we are quick to complain about it, for some, stress is an addiction. It gives them a conversation starter. It excuses them from not measuring up to the standards they wish they could attain. It makes them part of the crowd. I f you had a choice, would you wish to be part of a large crowd of paupers or a small group of wealthy people? That one is easy, and yet, we deny ourselves the "wealth" of a peaceful, pleasant life. How do we do this? First, we keep talking about it....

The Whitewater of Life

If you signed up to take a rafting ride and the water was calm and the scenery never changed, you would, likely, be disappointed. You signed up for the excitement! You wanted to see and experience different things! You wanted to feel the adrenaline rush and the triumph over danger as the water got rough! If you had wanted a boring, uneventful life, you would have not chosen to come to Earth. Change and the excitement it brings are part of the Earth school process of learning. You cannot stop change, but you can control the way you approach it. If you did sign up for the rafting ride, would you spend the trip cowering in the bottom of the...
